FractionPrint Privacy Policy

We collect information in three general ways: information you provide to us directly, information generated through your use of the Platform, and information we receive from service providers and other third parties involved in fulfilling orders.

When you create an account or otherwise interact with the Platform, we may collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Username or account identifier
• Authentication information (e.g., a securely hashed password — we do not store passwords in plain text)
• Billing address
• Shipping address
• Business or company information, where applicable
• Account preferences and settings
• Other information you voluntarily submit to us (e.g., through support requests)

We do not store full payment card numbers; payment information is handled as described in Section 1.4 below.

To provide quotes and process orders, we collect information related to the items you wish to have manufactured, including:

• STL files, 3D models, CAD files, and other uploaded project files
• Part specifications, dimensions, materials, colors, and quantities
• Manufacturing instructions and order notes
• Project descriptions
• Quote information and order history
• Order-related communications
• Photographs, including quality-control photographs submitted in connection with an order

Sharing with printer operators. Digital manufacturing files and related project information (such as specifications, materials, and quantities) may be disclosed to the printer operator assigned to fulfill your order, because this information is reasonably necessary for that operator to manufacture your item. We do not treat the files you upload as FractionPrint’s property, and we do not grant ourselves a broad license to use your files beyond what is reasonably necessary to operate the Platform (including providing quotes, coordinating fulfillment, quality assurance, customer support, and improving the Platform’s core functionality). Separate terms — including our Terms of Service and Printer Agreement — govern ownership, confidentiality, permitted use, and restrictions on copying, reverse engineering, resale, or unauthorized manufacturing of uploaded files. This Privacy Policy addresses how such information is processed; it does not itself grant intellectual property rights.

Printer operators are independent contractors, not employees, of FractionPrint. If you apply to become or operate as a printer on FractionPrint, we may collect:

• Name, email, phone number, and address
• Shipping/origin address and general geographic service area
• Equipment information, including printer make, model, and printer serial number
• Equipment capabilities, including material and manufacturing capabilities
• Test-print submissions and related onboarding/quality-assurance information, including photographs
• Job history and performance information
• Payout information and payment-provider account identifiers (see Section 1.4)
• Tax information, including information necessary to issue an IRS Form 1099 to printer operators who earn more than $600 from the Platform in a fiscal year (see Section 1.4 regarding identity-verification information such as Social Security numbers, which is collected by Stripe directly, not by FractionPrint)

Printer Serial Numbers (Equipment Verification Information). We collect printer serial numbers from printer operators as part of our equipment verification process during onboarding. We do this to confirm that an applicant possesses or controls a legitimate physical 3D printer, which helps us prevent fraudulent or misrepresented equipment listings and supports the overall integrity and security of the FractionPrint manufacturing network. We treat printer serial numbers as equipment/device verification information, distinct from the manufacturing and order information described in Section 1.2. Printer serial numbers are not displayed on operator profiles and are not shared with customers, other printer operators, or other Platform users, and they are not publicly available information. We do not share printer serial numbers with printer manufacturers, advertisers, or other unrelated third parties. As with other account information, we may access, use, or disclose printer serial numbers where necessary to comply with a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful government request; to investigate suspected fraud, security incidents, or violations of our agreements; to protect the rights, property, or safety of FractionPrint, our users, or the public; or as otherwise required by applicable law. See Sections 5 (Data Retention) and 6 (Data Security) for additional detail.

We use a third-party payment processor, Stripe (including Stripe Connect/Express for printer payouts), to process payments and payouts. Stripe directly collects and processes sensitive financial and identity-verification information, such as full payment card numbers, bank account details, government-issued identification, and Social Security numbers, in accordance with its own privacy policy and applicable payment-industry security standards, and consistent with Stripe’s "know your customer" (KYC) obligations for payout accounts.

FractionPrint does not directly collect, receive, or store government-issued identification numbers or Social Security numbers. That information is collected and held solely by Stripe. FractionPrint itself may still receive and store limited transaction-related information from Stripe, such as:

• Transaction ID
• Payment status
• Transaction amount
• Refund information
• Payout status
• Payment-provider account identifiers
• Limited billing information (such as billing name and address, or the last four digits of a payment card)

We do not have access to complete, unmasked payment card numbers, government-issued identification, or Social Security numbers. We do not sell payment or financial information.

We use shipping-related services and integrations, including Shippo, UPS, and USPS, to generate labels and coordinate delivery. Shipping-related information may include:

• Customer name, shipping address, email, and phone number (where necessary for delivery)
• Printer/origin address
• Tracking information, package information, shipment status, and carrier information

This information may be shared with the assigned printer operator, shipping carriers, shipping technology providers, and other service providers as necessary to fulfill and deliver your order.

When you use the Platform, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, such as:

• IP address
• Browser type and operating system
• Device type and device identifiers
• Approximate location derived from IP address
• Referring URL, pages viewed, and clicks/interactions
• Session information and login activity
• Date and time of access
• Diagnostic and crash information

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember preferences, analyze usage, and support advertising. We currently use:

• Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Platform
• Google Ads, for advertising campaigns
• Reddit Ads, for advertising campaigns
• Meta Pixel, for advertising campaigns

We do not sell customer or user personal information for money. However, our use of advertising technologies such as Google Ads, Reddit Ads, and Meta Pixel may involve sharing certain online identifiers or browsing activity with those advertising platforms for purposes of measuring and delivering ads. We treat this activity as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising and as "targeted advertising" under applicable U.S. state privacy laws, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of that sharing/targeted advertising where our systems detect them. See Section 8 for additional opt-out rights.

We use the information described above for purposes including:

• Creating and authenticating accounts
• Providing quotes and processing orders
• Matching or assigning orders to printer operators
• Facilitating manufacturing and quality assurance
• Processing payments and printer payouts, including tax reporting (e.g., Form 1099 issuance)
• Coordinating shipping and tracking
• Providing customer support and responding to communications
• Resolving disputes, refunds, and reprints
• Detecting, investigating, and preventing fraud and abuse
• Maintaining the security and integrity of the Platform
• Improving and developing the Platform
• Analytics and internal reporting
• Advertising, as described in Section 1.7
• Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our agreements
• Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims

We do not currently send marketing emails or text messages. If this changes, we will update this Policy and provide applicable opt-out mechanisms as described in Section 12.

FractionPrint operates a marketplace connecting customers with independent printer operators. Fulfilling an order necessarily requires certain information to pass between these parties.

An assigned printer operator may receive information reasonably necessary to fulfill an order, which may include:

• The uploaded STL/3D model or other project file
• Manufacturing specifications, materials, color, and quantity
• Relevant order instructions and communications
• Shipping information, where the printer is responsible for shipment

We apply data-minimization principles to this sharing — printer operators receive information reasonably necessary to complete the assigned order, not a customer’s full account profile or unrelated order history.

This operational sharing, which is necessary to the core function of the marketplace, is different from selling or disclosing customer information to unrelated third parties, and we do not treat it as a "sale" of personal information.

We share information with categories of service providers who perform services on our behalf, including:

• Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers
• Payment and payout processing (Stripe)
• Shipping and logistics providers (Shippo, UPS, USPS)
• Email delivery (SendGrid)
• Analytics and advertising providers (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Reddit Ads, Meta Pixel)
• Customer support, including our dedicated support email and internal messaging tools used by our support and administrative personnel
• Professional advisors (e.g., accountants, attorneys)
• Contractors who assist in operating the Platform

We do not maintain an exhaustive, always-current list of every vendor in this Policy, since our vendors may change as we grow; instead, we describe categories of processing so this Policy remains accurate over time.

We may access, use, preserve, or disclose information where we have a good-faith belief it is reasonably necessary to:

• Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, including a valid subpoena or court order;
• Investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected fraud, security incidents, or violations of our Terms of Service or other agreements;
• Protect the rights, property, or safety of FractionPrint, our users, or the public; or
• Enforce our agreements or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

If FractionPrint is involved in a financing, investment, due diligence process, merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction involving all or part of our business, information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections. We will provide notice as required by applicable law if a transaction results in a materially different use of your information.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Platform, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by category of information:

• Account information, order and transaction records, and communications: retained for as long as your account remains active. When your account is deleted, your identity data (name, email address, phone number, addresses, and sign-in credentials) is erased immediately, and your email address becomes available for new registrations.
• Customer manufacturing files (STL/CAD and related project files): we do not delete STL/CAD files as a matter of routine practice while your account remains active; these files are retained consistent with our general account-data retention practice described above. When your account is deleted, uploaded files are deleted at the end of the order-record retention window described below.
• Order and transaction records after account deletion: for payment-dispute (chargeback) defence and accounting compliance, order and transaction records — including the personal information they contain and associated uploaded files — are retained for up to 120 days after each order’s creation, and are then anonymized, with the uploaded files deleted.
• Account/data deletion requests: you can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings on the website or in the mobile app (see fractionprint.com/account-deletion); self-service deletion takes effect immediately. If you instead submit a deletion request through support, we will process it within approximately 72 hours. Suspending an account does not itself trigger deletion — information continues to be retained under this Section unless and until the account is deleted.
• Fraud- and security-related information, including printer equipment verification information such as printer serial numbers: retained for as long as the associated printer operator account remains active, and until the account is suspended or deleted, consistent with our general retention practice, in order to support ongoing fraud-prevention, security, and legal-compliance functions.
• Tax records (e.g., information supporting Form 1099 issuance for printer operators): retained as needed to comply with applicable tax recordkeeping laws, which may require retention beyond account deletion.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) for administrative access to internal systems and restricting access to information on a need-to-know basis.

Equipment/device verification information, including printer serial numbers, is subject to the same access restrictions described above: access is limited to authorized personnel who need it to perform verification, fraud-prevention, or security functions.

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information.

The Platform is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in a manner inconsistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information.

FractionPrint requires all users to affirmatively represent that they are 18 years of age or older as a condition of using the Platform, via the Terms of Service (a separate document from this Policy); this is the primary mechanism by which FractionPrint restricts underage use. The COPPA-focused provision above addresses the narrower scenario of under-13 data collection specifically.

Depending on where you reside and subject to applicable law, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal information, which may include the right to:

• Request access to, or a copy of, the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate personal information
• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions (see Section 5 regarding self-service account deletion, the 120-day dispute-retention window for order records and files, and tax-record retention exceptions)
• Request portability of certain information
• Obtain information about our processing of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not currently sell personal information for monetary consideration)
• Opt out of the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or opt out of targeted advertising, arising from our use of Google Ads, Reddit Ads, and Meta Pixel (see Section 1.7). We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out request where our systems detect them.
• Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent
• Appeal a denial of a privacy request, where applicable under state law
• Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights

FractionPrint is not necessarily currently subject to every U.S. state comprehensive privacy law referenced above; applicability depends on factors such as the volume of consumer data processed and annual revenue thresholds specific to each state. We intend to comply with all privacy laws that currently apply to us and to update this section as our practices and applicable legal obligations evolve.

To exercise a privacy right, please contact us at support@fractionprint.com. We verify requests by confirming they are submitted from, or independently confirmable via, the email address associated with your account, and we may request additional confirming information for higher-risk requests (such as deletion of a printer operator’s account).

This section is intended to address disclosures that may be required under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA"), to the extent FractionPrint is subject to that law.

• Categories of personal information collected: identifiers (e.g., name, email, IP address); account and commercial information (e.g., order history); geolocation data (approximate, derived from IP); internet or other electronic network activity information; and, for printer operators, equipment/device verification information (e.g., printer serial numbers) and independent-contractor tax information. Sensitive personal information: government-issued identification numbers and Social Security numbers are collected directly by our payment processor, Stripe, for identity-verification and payout purposes; FractionPrint does not directly collect, receive, or store this information (see Section 1.4).
• Sources: directly from users, automatically through use of the Platform, and from service providers involved in fulfilling orders (e.g., payment and shipping providers).
• Purposes: as described in Section 2 above.
• Categories of recipients: service providers and the categories described in Sections 3 and 4 above, including our analytics and advertising providers listed in Section 1.7.
• Sale/sharing: we do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. As described in Section 1.7, our use of advertising technologies constitutes "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of that sharing.
• Consumer rights: as described in Section 8 above, including the right to designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf.
• Non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

FractionPrint currently operates in the United States, and information is stored in the United States. As of the Effective Date, all FractionPrint personnel and contractors operate within the United States; this Policy will be updated before we engage personnel or contractors located outside the United States.

If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

We intend to expand FractionPrint’s operations into Europe and Asia within approximately the next 15 years. FractionPrint does not currently represent that it complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, or similar non-U.S. frameworks. Before any launch into the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, additional legal and technical work will be required, including but not limited to: appointing an EU/UK representative where required, implementing a GDPR-compliant legal basis framework, addressing cross-border transfer mechanisms, evaluating obligations under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) and General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), and addressing DAC7 reporting obligations for platform sellers. Similar jurisdiction-specific analysis will be required before any expansion into Asian markets, which will vary by country. This Policy will be updated well in advance of any such expansion.

Certain FractionPrint personnel and contractors may have access to information described in this Policy where reasonably necessary to perform their roles, such as customer support, printer assignment and quality assurance, payments, platform maintenance, security, and dispute resolution. Access is limited to what is reasonably necessary for these functions, and administrative access to internal systems requires multi-factor authentication.

FractionPrint may use, or may in the future use, automated tools or artificial intelligence to support functions such as generating quotes, matching orders to printer operators, customer support, manufacturing analysis, and fraud prevention.

We do not use customers’ proprietary manufacturing files (such as STL/CAD files) to train AI models for purposes unrelated to providing the Platform. If FractionPrint begins using third-party AI tools that process customer files in new ways, this section will be updated to describe that processing, and appropriate vendor/data-processing terms will be put in place.

We may send you communications related to your account, orders, payments, shipping, printer assignments, and other service-related matters ("transactional communications"). These communications are necessary to operate the Platform, and you generally cannot opt out of them while maintaining an active account.

We do not currently send marketing communications. If we begin doing so, you will be able to opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in those communications or by contacting us as described in Section 14. Opting out of marketing communications would not affect transactional communications.

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice of material changes (for example, by email or a prominent notice on the Platform) before the change takes effect.
